Residents in northern Missouri are on alert today as forecasts predict strong winds with speeds ranging from 35 to 45 mph, accompanied by the possibility of severe weather conditions. The National Weather Service has highlighted areas from Maryville to Kirksville, emphasizing the need for preparedness against non-storm-related wind gusts that could disrupt daily activities.

The critical period for potential severe weather is slated between 1 PM and 6 PM, generally, south of Highway 36, where the risk of damaging winds and isolated hail events increases, although the probability of tornadoes remains marginal.

The weather outlook for Tuesday indicates a clearer, sunny day yet still breezy, setting a pattern for a week of variable temperatures and sustained winds.

Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, stay updated through various communication methods, and prepare for weather changes.
