The Costa Rican team will seek this Monday, November 18, to break Panama’s great streak of six wins in a row in official games, and in the process tie the numerical history on southern soil.

And it is that of 23 trips to canal land since February 16, 1938, the different Panamanian teams won eight times, tied the same number, suffering seven setbacks against our country.

The first duel in that sister land ended with a 0-11 Costa Rican victory, where Hernán Bolaños stood out, scoring five times in the enemy’s net.

Alfredo Piedra also scored twice that day in the Central American and Caribbean Games, as did Alejandro Morera, Antonio Hütt celebrated once, while George Pinnock committed an own goal.

The games are divided as follows: two for the Central American and Caribbean Games, nine for the World Cup qualifiers, three for the Uncaf Nations Cup, one for the Central American Cup, two for the Nations League and six friendlies.

Costa Rica has not won a match on points in Panama, since 1-2 on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, towards the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

This Monday will be exactly nine years since that celebration as the winner, with notes from Bryan Ruiz and Marcos Ureña.

The missing southern striker Luis Tejada would conquer the Canalero goal.

Panama hopes to become the first Concacaf team to defeat us seven times in a row, surpassing the six that Mexico had in this century.

The largest record adding duels of all types is held by Brazil with 11 consecutive victories.
