Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta was full of praise for striker Marcus Thuram ahead of France’s UEFA Nations League match against Italy today.
Thuram is in the squad and could feature for France against the Azzurri at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, as both sides battle to secure top spot in Group B in the final round of fixtures.
In an interview with French newspaper L’Equipe, and as reported by FCInterNews.itMarotta was keen to emphasise the impact that Thuram has made with the Nerazzurri, despite struggling for goals on the international stage.
The President felt that much of Thuram’s positive characteristics had come from his father, Lilian, who played for Juventus whilst Marotta had worked with the Bianconeri.
“Marcus is a young man with solid moral principles, because he has integrated the values and education transmitted by his father, who I had the opportunity to know personally,” Marotta claimed.
“He is very outgoing, so his cordiality and ease in creating relationships is evident.
“Lilian was a great professional, but above all a great man. He instilled very important human values in his children, who perceive him as a guide for their own careers”.
Thuram joined Inter from Borussia Monchengladbach as a free agent in 2023 and has scored 20 goals in 43 Serie A appearances for the Nerazzurri, lifting the Scudetto last season.
