Anger roars again in the fields. Farmers' unions have planned a series of actions to demonstrate their opposition to the free trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur, despite a common position with the French government on this subject. “We are demanding an in-depth modification of the Mercosur treaty,” demands the president of the FNSEA Arnaud Rousseau in an interview with the Sunday Tribune.
Before “large-scale” actions planned over the next week, mobilization begins this Sunday in several departments. The bulk of the actions are planned in Ile-de-France, with several blockages expected in Yvelines and Essonne. According to the Yvelines prefecture, road traffic could be seriously disrupted on the N118 near Vélizy, where around a hundred tractors are expected around 5 p.m.
Actions in major cities on Monday
According to BFMTV, two CRS companies should prevent them from advancing further towards Paris. Furthermore, a convoy is expected on the A10 with a blockage at the Longvilliers tollbooth.
