The singer, who has sold more than 15 million records, looked back on his childhood in Amsterdam and then in a village 30 km from the capital. At the time, young Dave, real name Wouter Otto Levenbach, wanted to become a pastor and grew up in a family “idyllic”. But the atmosphere deteriorates when, at 16, Dave discovers his father's betrayal against his will.. “Since my father had a little more money than most teachers, we could afford to have a cleaning lady who came every day. My father had an affair with her. And then one day, while looking for a bulb for my motorcycle, I came across letters from her to my father, which were extremely precise. I took the letters, put them on my father's desk and he told me 'don't tell your mother'.”confided the interpreter of Vanina.

I went downstairs to support her”explained the singer. Eventually, his parents divorced and his father ended his life alongside this woman. “I think that now more than 50% of couples fall apart.
