Antonello Venditti he will be one of the guests of the Domenica In broadcast, the historic Rai TV program which will be broadcast on Sunday 17 November 2024. The man spoke and will speak about many topics, from how he discovered music to the bond with the family and in particular the relationship with his parents. A particular relationship and we can say about the one ‘from the old days’, let’s get to know them better.
His father Vincenzo Italo Venditti is a state official and at a certain point in his life he will become vice prefect of Rome. His mother Wanda, on the other hand, is a professor of Latin and Greek, old-fashioned parents, Venditti’s father died in 1999 when Antonello was 50 years old while his mother left a few years later, in particular in 2007. On the parents the man jokes from time to time and reveals:
“I am proof that my parents had sex at least once in their lives”, then the man talked about his relationship with his mother, a woman who nevertheless appeared severe: “She gave me a 4 when I was at the piano and even in life”, Antonello said that he had literally driven both his mother and his piano teacher, Miss Corpaci, crazy with his irregular music: “My singing is not correct and neither is my way of playing the piano, not I use the third finger.”
Antonello Venditti and the love and hate relationship with his father
Antonello Venditti was an only child and was in some ways a rebellious son. When he was 14 he decided to stop playing music and he told the Corriere some time ago: “I let the real me come out without mediation and without fathers, I went by ear when it came to music but everything I did was irregular.”
Regarding the relationship with his father, the man has given an interview in recent months where he spoke about his father, a particular figure with whom the man had disagreements but who certainly enjoys his great esteem: “My father is a person I don’t regret but who is always with me. I realized late that I was his continuation and I believe I had a very strong relationship with him.”
Antonello then spoke about an episode from his adolescence which testifies to the complicated relationship with his father: “In the past it happened that we fought, I remember that at a certain point he wanted to give me a slap and I moved his elbow to defend myself, so but he broke his hand”, Antonello is almost moved but underlines that his father was a man of other times, as they no longer do.
