Thierno Baucoum, candidate nominated by the coalition Sam Your Wordvoted this Sunday around 10:30 a.m. as part of the early legislative elections called after the dissolution of the National Assembly by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye. The former MP, also leader of the AGIR movement, expressed his concern and alarm at what he considers to be insufficient voter participation.
“Usually, I waited in line. But today, for the first time, I came directly to vote without finding someone there. This shows that the Senegalese have not left. And the same observation is made in the other voting centers,” he declared after voting in the Parcelles Assainies district in Dakar.
Thierno Baucoum called on citizens to take stock of the stakes of this election, crucial for determining the future configuration of the National Assembly. “The Senegalese must go out en masse in order to choose the representatives they want,” he insisted.
