The crown of diamonds and pearls of Miss Universe 2024 has found a hair to rest on. It is Victoria Kjaer TheilvigMiss Denmark, who is now the proud owner. The young woman was crowned 73rd Miss Universe on the night of Saturday November 16 to Sunday November 17, at the end of a colorful election evening in Mexico. Her title was awarded to her by the Nicaraguan Sheyniss Palaciosprevious holder of the scarf.
Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, a 21-year-old business and marketing graduate and professional dancer, offers Denmark its very first title. “No matter where you come from, no matter your past, you can always choose to make it your strength,” she declared on the microphone during the election, finishing to convince the jury. The Nigerian climbed to second place Chidimma Adetshina. The Mexican Maria Fernanda Beltran closes the podium by leaving with the title of second runner-up. This year, the committee abandoned the age criterion, leaving women over 28 – as was the case until then – to submit their applications.
Miss France in the Top 30
France was represented by Indira AmpiotMiss France 2023. After a good start to the journey and a selection in the Top 30, the 20-year-old Guadeloupean lost at the gates of the Top 12. The last Miss France to have succeeded in entering the Top 30 is Clémence Botinoin 2021. Subtlety of the Miss Universe competition which authorizes Martinique and Guadeloupe to send candidates, Indira Ampiot was not the only Frenchwoman in the running. Catherine Edouard et Coraly Desplanrespectively Miss Universe Martinique and Miss Universe Guadeloupe, did not make it through the first wave of selection.
