The man, “very drunk”, was pounding on the door of a house this Sunday morning. He was killed after brandishing an imitation weapon.

A 30-year-old man, carrying a “weapon” and who “threatened” police officers, was killed by one of them early Sunday morning in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges (Val-de-), police sources told AFP.

The police had been called for a neighborhood conflict: an armed man was “drumming” on a person's door around 6 a.m., explained one of these sources. When they arrived, he threatened the police with an automatic pistol “crying 'Allah akbar'”, indicates to Figaro a police source. The weapon would be fake, according to an AFP source. One of the officers then “uses his weapon” and shot the man three times. The latter died despite the intervention of emergency services.

The IGPN entered

The victim, known to the police but not on S file, was alcoholic and seemed psychologically unstable, details our source. An alcohol and drug test was carried out on the police crew. All were negative, specifies this same source, adding that the IGPN was seized, as is the case every time a police officer uses his weapon.

“Alliance Police Nationale provides its support to the colleagues who intervened in this daily mission, which has transformed into an extremely dangerous mission”reacts Frédéric Le Coënt, departmental secretary of the union in Val-de-Marne. “Fortunately, none of our colleagues were injured, but this intervention, which led to the neutralization of an armed individual, constitutes a shocking ordeal. We send them all our support in the face of the difficulty of this intervention”he declared.
