There is a new Miss Universe… and she is Danish! Indira Ampiot, Miss France 2023, France's representative in the competition this year, unfortunately did not succeed in winning the crown and the 2025 title, as reported by Voix du Nord.
At 20 years old, Indira Ampiot still finished in the top 30, a better performance than her two predecessors, Diane Leyre and Floriane Bacou, who had not been classified.
“it’s okay, everything’s okay”
In a message posted in an Instagram story, the former Miss Guadeloupe wanted to reassure her fans: “ Look, it's okay, everything's okay. A little disappointed not to have been further than being 30th, but I tell myself that I was still classified. It's great, and in any case I'm still happy with my performance. I am very happy with everything I have done ».
And to continue: “II had fun, that's the main thing, so there you go, I'm very, very happy. I tell myself that the best is yet to come. It may be a “bad” for a good, but I still remain proud of myself, proud of what I have done “. She also took advantage of this video message to thank those who supported her: “ Thank you all for always encouraging and supporting me, for your messages… for everything you have sent me. I am very happy, very very proud to have represented France in the Miss Universe election at the age of 20. Thank you all, I love you very much ».
Victoria Kjaer Theivig crowned
It was the Danish Victoria Kjaer Theilvig who was crowned, on the night of Saturday to Sunday, Miss Universe 2025. A first for Denmark, which had, until now, never won the crown since the launch of the competition in 1952. Victoria Kjaer Theilvig succeeds Sheynnis Palacios, Miss Nicaragua and Miss Universe 2024.
France has not won the crown since 2016 and the election of Northerner Iris Mittenaere, who became the first French woman to win the title of Miss Universe since 1953. In addition to first place, since 2014, French candidates have climbed once into the top 5 (Flora Coquerel); twice in the top 10 (Maëva Coucke and Clémence Botino); once in the top 15 (Camille Cerf) and once in the top 21 (Amandine Petit).
The three Northerners who have participated in the competition in recent years have always placed well: Iris Mittenaere, Miss France 2016, won first place in 2016; Maëva Coucke, Miss France 2018, rose to 7th place in 2019 and Camille Cerf, Miss France 2015, obtained a place in the top 15 in 2015. Let's hope this brings luck to the Northerner Ève Gilles, current Miss France , who could well represent France next year in the competition!
