After recovering from an infection, Florian Wirtz is in the starting line-up of the German national football team in the Nations League game against Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Leverkusen player missed two training sessions during the week. However, Julian Nagelsmann announced that it probably wouldn’t be “enough for 90 minutes” at Wirtz.
The national coach decided not to experiment in the penultimate game of the year. As announced, goalkeeper Oliver Baumann will play his second international match in his old hometown of Freiburg (8.45 p.m./RTL).
In front of Baumann, captain Joshua Kimmich, Jonathan Tah, Antonio Rüdiger and Maximilian Mittelstädt form the back four. Nagelsmann relies on Robert Andrich and Pascal Groß in defensive midfield. Striker Tim Kleindienst should be supplied with crosses and passes by Wirtz, Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala.
With a success, the DFB selection, which has already qualified for the quarter-finals, would also secure group victory. – The German line-up: Baumann – Kimmich, Tah, Rüdiger, Mittelstädt – Andrich, Groß – Wirtz, Havertz, Musiala – Kleindienst. – Trainer: Nagelsmann
