Kosovars, confident that they will win the match with Romania at the “green table”! Which article of the regulation am I referring to?

The media from Kosovo writes that UEFA is bound by the rules to take a decision against Romania, because despite the fact that the guests abandoned the match, the hosts are guilty of this, because they were not able to take the necessary measures for the match to take place in optimal conditions.

“The game was stopped in the 90th minute, when the captain of the Kosovar team, Amir Rrahmani, urged his colleagues to immediately leave the field and head to the locker room.

This is not an isolated incident, but a repetition of similar episodes in the past. Romanian supporters have previously been involved in such offensive demonstrations towards the team from Kosovo. This time, the Kosovar team decided not to continue the game.

What the UEFA regulations provide in such cases

According to Article 29 of the UEFA regulations on refusal to play and similar cases, the consequences can be severe:

If a club refuses to play or is responsible for not starting or finishing a match (including penalty shootouts), UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body may declare the match forfeited by the team concerned.

In justified cases, this body can impose additional sanctions, including the exclusion of the team from the competition.

Article 29.02

If the match is suspended and the result recorded up to that point disadvantages the team responsible for the incident, the UEFA Body may decide to uphold that score.

Article 29.05

Following a well-documented request from the affected team, UEFA may establish financial compensation for the losses suffered”wrote those from Telegrafi.
