NRJ never stops weathering the storms. After the Cauet affair, it is Manu Levy, the emblematic voice of 6-9, who finds himself in turmoil. Convicted of moral harassment, the star host led the radio station to pay more than 310,000 euros to the complainants.
On April 2, Liberation threw a stone into the pond. After the burning Cauet affair, an explosive investigation revealed the double face of another NRJ figure: Manu Levy, warm host on air but accused of being a “tyrannical boss” as soon as the microphones go off. Isabelle Giami, co-host from 2018 to 2023, summed up the atmosphere: “What’s hard is that it’s insidious. It's a permanent denigration, a little drop of poison every day.“ Words that resonate with those of other employees, some of whom fell into depression after a few months in the team.
A former employee broke the silence on TikTok on April 15. Jo Mordon, ex-community manager of the morning show, describes a real “hell”. “I go to the radio with Dolipranes in my pocket, my stomach hurts so much”he confides, evoking two months of constant pressure. At only 18 years old, he said he felt “treated like shit” et “empty” in a few weeks. Between the screams in the corridors, the colleagues crying during commercial breaks and the toxic atmosphere, his testimony is chilling. Today, far from NRJ, Jo Mordon launches an appeal to the profession: “What if in 2024, we left the microphone to people who entertain without breaking anyone?” A cry from the heart that echoes that of Isabelle Giami and other collaborators, all marked by their time alongside Manu Levy.
NRJ ordered to pay a heavy bill after the conviction of Manu Levy
This Friday, November 15, the verdict fell. NRJ will have to pay more than 310,000 euros to three former collaborators of the star host, recognized as victims of moral harassment. Isabelle Giami, Valentin Chevalier and Aude Fraineau won their case at the industrial tribunal, with compensation for moral damage and, for some, reminders of overtime or the reclassification of their contracts as permanent contracts. “It’s a clear and severe victory”, declared their lawyer, Me Pierre Vignal before adding: “The moral harassment has been clearly recognized.”
For his part, Manu Levy still refutes the accusations: “In 13 seasons, I have not been aware of any complaint concerning me. Valentin Chevalier stayed eight years, Isabelle Giami five years… Why would they have stayed if it was so terrible?” The black picture drawn up by the complainants is also contested by Gaël Sanquer, deputy director of musical media at NRJ, who denounced a version “caricatural and misleading”. More the industrial tribunal judgment has ruled.
