It's not Christmas yet, and yet Damso fans are very spoiled. Indeed, the Brussels rapper announced the release of a surprise album for this Friday, November 15. While everyone was patiently waiting for his latest alleged project BĒYĀH which the rapper had announced for May 30, 2025, here is another one that is showing up. I lied, the disc, which was only supposed to be an EP, will therefore be an appetizer before the release of the album closing the singer's prolific career. A comeback before preparing to leave the music scene for good? SFR News tells you everything.
Damso is undoubtedly one of the most influential and talented rappers of his generation. The Belgian-Congolese emerged on the French-speaking music scene in 2006, before experiencing a leap in his career thanks to his meeting with Booba in 2015. Since then, William Kalubi Mwamba, his real name, has continued to achieve a string of successes with his projects like Low battery (2016), Ispséite (2017) or even Lithopédion (2018). Massive successes, which have earned him millions of streams and album sales, but also numerous awards such as Diamond or Gold records over the last decade.
Four years after his last project KALF and its three reissues, the one we nickname Dems offers us I lied, a new album before the last of his career scheduled for May 2025, BĒYĀH. It was at the end of October that the rapper, known for his elegant and mysterious discretion, resurfaced with an unexpected album announcement. He who had planned an EP, the latter ultimately transformed into a major project as a prelude. It was through unique listening sessions in several French-speaking cities that Damso revealed it in full and in preview to its most ardent fans. The lucky handful took charge of promoting the album, which relied on word of mouth, the rapper's desire for measured communication since his beginnings. A “wow” effect which amplified the enthusiasm around I lied. An evocative name which makes us think that the rapper has even more surprises in store for us…
I lied: first last album?
Rapper Damso makes his comeback after a long break with an event album: I lied. The one we weren't expecting before spring 2025, returns with a complete project of 11 songs, with the dark atmosphere that we know. A record full of violence and intensity in which the rapper addresses themes similar to his previous projects such as introspection, violence and even criticism of society. In any case, this is what the first piece gave us a glimpse of, Chrome, released on November 1st. With aggressive lyrics and an incisive flow, the artist offers us a powerful musical experience, both in substance and in form. The clip takes place in a futuristic atmosphere at the Matrix and brutal Pulp Fiction. Taken advantage of by criminals, the rapper executes them without detour. A dark atmosphere, which says a lot about the rest of the pieces to come…

The album is marked in particular by numerous collaborations, through which we find a wealth of sounds, both experimental and classic. We will note a new featuring with the Belgian singer Angèle. Three years after their last collaboration on Demons, the duo returns with Try Everything which already promises to be a new success. We also include the presence of Martinican rapper Kalash. After Year Moon et MalpolisDamso reunites with his accomplice with whom he was awarded a Diamond Disc in 2017. Other artists can be found on certain tracks such as Kalash Criminel or Michkavie, who is none other than his brother.
The wait is finally coming to an end and fans will be able to grab I lied starting this Friday, November 15. To their delight, they will be able to listen to all of the rapper's works again, including KALF, which had been deliberately deleted from the listening platforms, leaving room for the reissue QALF Infinity.
