A sprinkle of neve which in some areas fell to 1,200 meters and affected theSouth Tyrol. In mountain areas there is a sharp drop in temperatures which, already at 1,800-2,000 metres, guarantees the entry into operation of the cannons used for artificial snow. The sun is shining in the Trentino Alto Adige area but the low temperatures, in the absence of heavy snowfall, are a ‘boon’ for the installers. They were recorded during the night -15°C at 3,399 meters of the pre-summit of Cima Libera in Val Ridanna. The mercury column around 3,000 meters is on average -10°C.
Most significant dusting of snow in Upper Pusteria Valley. In Sesto Pusteria the fellow citizens of Jannik Sinner, currently involved in the ATP Finals in Turin, woke up under a light white blanket and the morning temperature was a few degrees below zero after a low on the night of -6°C. The Dolomite and Alpine passes are all passable, including Rombo and Stelvio (access only from the South Tyrolean side and with winter equipment).
