The 2025 AFCON will be the 35th edition of the biennial continental tournament organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and will be held in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
Qualifying for the tournament will take place in three ‘blocks’ in September (Matchday 1 & 2), October (Matchday 3 & 4) and November (Matchday 5 & 6) of 2024. The top two teams in each qualifying group will advance to the AFCON tournament.
Matchday 5 and 6 fixtures are taking place from Wednesday 13 November to Tuesday 19 November 2024.

22:17 – Burkina Faso 0-0 Senegal – 54 minutes in and Burkina Faso have missed a good opportunity to open the scoring. Cedric Badolo misses a sitter and Mendy breathes easy as he gets away with not having to make the save.
22h12 – 48′ Benin 1-0 Nigeria: The second-half is underway at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny where the Super Eagles are trailing.
22:09 – Burkina Faso 0-0 Senegal – The second half has been underway for about three minutes in Mali. Both sides with work to do but for Senegal, their aim will be to finish top of Group L.

21h50 – Half-Time: Benin 1-0 Nigeria – The Cheetahs are leading in Ivory Coast courtesy of Ivory Coast-born defender Mohamed Tijani’s first-ever goal for Benin.

Tunisia have officially booked their spot in the 2025 AFCON following a 3-2 win against Barea at Loftus.

Soon after going a man down as a result of Wajdi Kechrida seeing red in the 89th minute, Ali Al-Abdi managed to put his side ahead in the 93rd minute of the match after a swift attacking move into the area. With Amor Layouni creating havoc on the right wing, the attacker whipped in a ball that was met by Al-Abdi who guided the ball home with a header from close range.
19h46- Madagascar 2-2 Tunisia: The Eagles of Carthage are now piling on the pressure and have been playing most of their football inside the Madagascar box en-route to the 80th minute mark. However, Barea look dangerous on the break, especially with the space behind Tunisia’s backline.

Madagascar are gifted with an equalizer following a dreadful error by Amanallah Memmiche in goal. In what was supposed to be a routine catch from a corner situation, the Tunisian goalkeeper mistimed his catch and subsequently saw the ball fumble into his own net.
