Belgium plays this Thursday against Italy in the Nations League. For the Belgians, a victory is necessary to maintain a small chance of reaching the quarter-finals.
The Red Devils had a lot of trouble with Italy a little over a month ago in Rome. After a stupid red card from the Italians, the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
But they will have to do better if they want to take all three points this time. The Italian coach, Luciano Spallettiis therefore wary of an “adversary not to be underestimated”.
“The mentality of the players is very important again. It has been very good in recent months. We are trying to play like we did in the first half against Belgium last month,” he said according to the Newspaper.
Spalletti is also aware of the large number of absentees on the Belgian side, but he says he is not focusing on that. “Belgium remains an excellent team, with many players playing in the big teams in Europe,” he warns.
Romelu Lukaku is back this time, and Spalletti remains on guard. “An exceptional player. We know perfectly well that Belgium will want to exploit his talent. He is very strong in the air and in duels. We will therefore have to anticipate well. But his presence does not change my approach.”
