This Wednesday marks nine years since the attacks of November 13, 2015, which left 131 dead, 413 injured, and thousands of victims. These nine years also mark a milestone for the November 13 program, a vast research program on individual and collective memory which is formed and was formed around the November 13 attacks.

On November 13, 2015, for the first time in a European city, a jihadist commando took action on several sites simultaneously: the Stade de in Saint-Denis, bars and restaurants in the 10th and 11th arrondissement of , and the Bataclan performance hall, in the 11th arrondissement. The targets are largely civilian. The massive attacks are claimed by Daesh, the Islamic State organization. These are the deadliest terrorist attacks perpetrated in France.

The program November 13launched shortly after the events, aims to study the memory of the attacks of November 2015. Embracing various disciplinary currents in the social sciences, it aims to study the construction and evolution of memory after the attacks of 13 November 2015, and in particular the articulation between individual memory and collective memory. Among other things, the Remember study, coordinated by Francis Eustache, aims to better understand Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Study 1000, coordinated by Denis Peschanski, aims to constitute a corpus of operational testimonies for heritage and scientific purposes. The CRÉDOC “Living Conditions and Aspirations” survey, coordinated by Sandra Hoibian, aims to better understand the way in which collective memory is formed and evolves around the events of November 13.
