Juan Soto has no shortage of suitors as MLB free agency begins.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan on Tuesday published an MLB offseason preview and highlighted four ballclubs — Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, New York Yankees — who are expected to make a run at the 26-year-old superstar.
Passan reported the Blue Jays will meet with Soto first as Toronto “is serious” about adding a star to pair with slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
The Red Sox have Soto atop their “want list” and will meet with him this week, according to Passan. New York Post’s Jon Heyman on Monday also called the Red Sox “legit players” for Soto.
Passan labeled the Mets and Yankees as the two “favorites” to sign Soto. Both ballclubs have meetings scheduled with the four-time MLB All-Star.

The trusted MLB insider noted a few others who could show interest in Soto, including the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays. But Passan believes those two could be “priced out” should Soto’s market heat up to historic levels.
Passan believes Soto could receive the longest contract in baseball history, perhaps exceeding $600 million in guarantees.
