This was followed by the official starting shot by sports councilor Sofie Bracke (Open VLD), Deputy Prime Minister Vincent Van Peteghem (CD&V) and ex-winner Kenny De Ketele.

The Six Days of Ghent is a combination of top sport and entertainment for six days. Riders doing laps on the track. Thousands of partygoers are now doing polonaises in the center square, drinking pints until the last laps and getting stuck into the party atmosphere. The Ghent Six Days is unique in its experience. Numerous artists will also come to ‘t Kuipke and there is room for the Future Six Days, a two-day event for women, and the G-athletes will also be featured again.
Lindsay De Vylder and Robbe Ghys are the defending champions and can write history with another victory.
