Between international ambitions and the obligation to prove to the Japanese Tsukasa Hojo the quality of the series so that he agrees to let go of the adaptation rights, the production of « Cat’s Eyes » has focused heavily on the impressive Parisian settings, as highlighted by La Voix du Nord. The first episode takes place mainly at the Eiffel Tower, the second at the Monnaie de Paris and the third in Versailles…
Episode 1 features the sisters’ first painting theft. Cat’s Eyes » during an exhibition at the Eiffel Tower. Director Alexandre Laurent doesn’t like green backgrounds but he had to use a little for the Eiffel Tower, for all the close-ups which are not authorized on this monument.
But the series is written to be filmed as much as possible on real locations and this episode is therefore actually filmed in the Eiffel Tower.
Filming took place at night, from closing to the public until reopening in the morning. This was the first week of filming for the series, in October 2023. The crews had five days of filming and would have needed ten. To optimize time, two teams filmed simultaneously. Camille Lou was in one of them, while the other was filming with her double, the athlete and stuntwoman Chloé Henry. “ For example, we climb a lot of stairs, Chloe did one part while I did the other! », Explains Camille Lou to our colleagues at Voix du Nord.

Climb on an edge of the Eiffel Tower? Camille would have “ a-do-re » do it but it was Chloé Henry who stuck to it, just like the scene where Tam, the character she plays, walks on a beam and climbs a wall. A question of agility but also of confidence. There was no question of the main actress getting injured at the start of filming in a big-budget series (25 million euros, editor’s note). “ But I did a lot of races and the stunt with Prudence (Élodie Fontan) was me! » specifies Camille Lou, who also “ climbed a railing ».
The weather was seasonal and it rained for the majority of the shoot, which complicated the work. For example, when Tam is hanging from the Eiffel Tower, Camille Lou says: “ I was hung for several hours from a pillar of the Eiffel Tower. It was raining, I was freezing ».
A grueling shoot during which she also realized that the Eiffel Tower was moving! It must be said that in addition to raining, it was very windy.
Claire Romain, who plays Tam’s little sister (Camille Lou Editor’s note), also participated in scenes on the Eiffel Tower. To our colleagues at Télé-Loisirs, she confided having found that “ super trying » but for her it was “ an honor and a chance » to turn in one of the “ the most iconic monuments in the world ».
Next week, the public will be able to discover an episode entirely filmed at the Palace of Versailles and the following week, another filmed at the Louvre. Just that!
