Nabil Baha, coach of the Moroccan national team for under 17 years, confirmed that facing the Egyptian national team was difficult, despite the victory (5-1), in the first round of the North African Championship qualifying for the African Cup finals.
Nabil Baha said in the press conference that followed the match: “It was a difficult match despite the big score. At the beginning of the match we faced some difficulties due to Egypt’s control, but we were good as a unit as we respected the game plan after the first goal, and I think the players freed themselves and this is what is important.”
He added: “We scored first, but unfortunately we conceded a goal, because for me it is a bit difficult because I don’t like conceding goals, but in general the players played a good match tactically and we were a cohesive bloc and knew how to be realistic in front of goal.”
He continued: “We haven’t done anything yet, we still have three matches left in these qualifiers and we have to be ready to come back quickly. We still have a week to play the next match but I think we are on a good track.”.
conclude: “It’s the first time these competitions have been held, so there’s always a little bit of fear of conceding goals. They don’t know the opponent well and there are players who have never played against the Egyptians, Algerians, Tunisians or Libyans, at least.”
