(Alliance News) – European stock markets, confirming the trend in futures contracts, opened lower on Tuesday, after an active session on the eve of the event. On the economic data front, Germany's annual inflation rate was confirmed at 2.0% in October by data released by the Federal Statistics Office on Tuesday, up from a three-year low and a half years by 1.6% in September and in line with preliminary estimates.
This is the highest inflation in three months, with services inflation accelerating to 4% from 3.8% in September, food inflation to 2.3% from 1.6%. , and goods inflation rebounding to 0.4% after a decline of 0.3%.
Looking at all securities, only 13% are up, 23% are down, 4% are unchanged and 60% are not traded, for an exchange value of around €311 million .
The FTSE Mib is therefore down 0.8%, to 34,074.37 euros.
In Europe, the FTSE 100 in London is down 0.6%, the CAC 40 in Paris is down 1.0%, as is the DAX in Frankfurt.
Among the smaller lists, Mid-Cap is down 0.8% at 46,941.30, Small-Cap is down 0.5% at 27,760.49 and Italy Growth is 0.3% in the red at 7,777.50.
On the list of the highest capitalization of Piazza Affari, among the few bullish stocks is still Leonardo, which progresses by 1.4%. IDV, the brand of the Iveco group – which lost 0.3% – specialized in vehicles for defense and civil protection, enters the joint venture created by Leonardo and the German Rheinmetall, as Il Messaggero wrote on Tuesday. IDV's share will be between 12% and 15% of the total assets of the joint venture, which will be responsible for the production of tracked combat vehicles for the Italian army.
UniCredit – down 0.3% – announced on Tuesday that it had purchased 5.5 million of its own common shares between November 4 and 8. The shares were acquired at an average price of 40.4285 EUR for a total value of 224 million EUR. Following these transactions, the company holds 77.9 million shares, or 4.8% of the share capital.
Mediobanca – in the red by 7.4 percent – said on Tuesday it closed the first quarter with a net profit of 330 million euros, compared to 351.3 million euros in the same period of the last year, which ended on September 30, 2023. Net interest income amounted to 485 million euros, compared to 495.7 million euros as of September 30, 2023.
A2A's board of directors – down 0.1% – reviewed accounting figures as of September 30, closing with a net profit attributable to the group of €713 million, up €288 million by compared to the previous year, when it amounted to 425 million euros. For the reporting period, the group's turnover amounted to 9.09 billion euros, down 17% compared to the previous year.
In the midcap market, Caltagirone is one of the few bullish stocks, up 1.0%, updating a new 52-week high at EUR 6.28 per share.
Salcef, meanwhile, rose 0.2%, with results expected on Thursday and its price in the region of 25.90 euros per share.
Tinexta, on the other hand, lost 3.3% to 7.70 euros. The stock updated its 52-week low at 7.65 euros during trading.
Sesa – in the red by 1.9% – reported on Monday that it had purchased 19,500 of its own ordinary shares between November 4 and 8. The shares were acquired at an average price of 78.26 euros per share, for a total value of 1.5 million euros.
Fincantieri, for its part, fell 1.0%, after the 7.7% gain recorded on Monday at the close. It is worth mentioning that the company announced on Monday that it had successfully completed the campaign for the approval of the company's first widespread shareholding and co-investment plan, which saw a significant participation of the group's employees in Italy , in Norway and the United States.
In the small cap segment, Newlat Food (+4.6%) announced on Tuesday that it had closed the first nine months with a combined consolidated turnover of 2.03 billion euros, which constitutes a record for the group . Net profit for the period amounted to 170.8 million euros, compared to 18.2 million euros for the first nine months of 2023.
Centrale del Latte d'Italia also recorded an increase of 1.5%. The company approved its results for the nine months ending September 30, closing the period with a net profit of €8.3 million, compared to €6.3 million for the nine months ending September 30, 2023 .
Eems, on the other hand, is losing 3.3% to EUR 0.1824, heading towards its third consecutive bullish candle.
Seco, for its part, lost 2.5%. The company and Raspberry Pi announced Tuesday that they have signed a strategic business agreement aimed at expanding their business opportunities by collaborating on hardware and software development.
Seri Industrial, on the other hand, fell 2.4 percent, after falling 0.2 percent in the previous session. On the MarketScreener platform, the stock – on the average of two analysts – is listed with a target price of 7.40 euros per share, which makes it undervalued by almost 152%.
Among SMEs, Adventure grew by more than 10%, after falling by more than 13% the day before.
Omer – in the green by 8.1% – announced on Tuesday that it had signed a contract with Alstom via its subsidiary Omer North America Corp for the supply of technical components and furnishings for trains put into service by Metra, a company which supplies public transportation in the Chicago metropolitan area. The order awarded to OMER concerns the supply of hat box modules and ventilation systems for 221 cars.
Farmacosmo stock is also up 4%, after falling 7.7% on Monday.
Energy – down 0.6% – announced on Monday the acquisition of an additional 13.5% stake in EnergyInCloud, of which it already held 73%. For this participation, taken over by a minority shareholder of the subsidiary, the company invested 20,000 euros.
In New York, the Dow closed last night up 0.7%, while the Nasdaq rose 0.1%, as did the S&P 500.
In Asian stock markets, the Hang Seng closed down 2.8%, the Shanghai Composite was 1.4% in the red and the Nikkei was down 0.4%.
Among currencies, the euro traded at $1.0619 from $1.0640 at the close of European stock markets on Monday. The pound is worth 1.2795 USD against 1.2859 USD on Monday evening.
Among raw materials, a barrel of Brent is worth 71.95 USD against 71.88 USD Monday evening. Gold is trading at $2,602.31 per ounce compared to $2,602.31 per ounce last night.
On the macroeconomic calendar for Tuesday, at 1100 CET, in Germany, it is the turn of the ZEW business confidence index; At 1300 CET, in the United States, the monthly OPEC report is expected to be released.
