During the Domingol with Benja This Sunday (10), presenter Benjamin Back stated that Flamengo is the favorite in the decision of the Copa do Brasil, which takes place this Sunday (10), against Atlético-MG, at Arena MRV.
“For me, the big favorite to be champion is Flamengo. For the advantage”, he explained.
Flamengo won the first game, in Rio de Janeiro, 3-1, and therefore could lose by up to a goal difference to lift the cup. Galo needs to win by three goals or more to be champion. If the home team wins by two goals, the decision will be on penalties.
Despite considering the Atlético-MG team “a great team”, Benja believes that the advantage will be decisive.
“For me the advantage, 3-0 for me would already be confirmed, two really, it gives a boost. Especially because the Atlético team is damn good. Atlético is a great team, but they are also playing against a great team”, he stated.
Strategy for the decisive game
As for Flamengo's stance for the decisive game, taking into account the advantage on the scoreboard, Benja questioned whether the Rio team should enter to play normally or try to hold on to the result. For commentator and former player Michel Bastos, Flamengo needs to change the way they play.
“It’s not possible, especially playing away, to open the game, go out and play, knowing that there was an important result to guarantee the title. I think we have to change the way we play. In my opinion, I think that today we have to change the way we play, yes, for sure. You have to play with the result you achieved there”, he said.
