Honours even at the Bridge

Scorers: Neto 70′; Martinelli 60′

Chelsea and Arsenal had to settle for a point apiece after a pulsating 1-1 draw.

Martin Ødegaard and Declan Rice returned for the visitors as they aimed to avoid staying 10 points off leaders Liverpool in the title race.

Mikel Arteta’s side appeared to have broken the deadlock shortly from Kai Havertz squeezing the ball home but a VAR review disallowed his strike.

The visitors finally made the breakthrough on the hour mark courtesy of Gabriel Martinelli meeting Ødegaard’s cross to the far post with a sweeping finish.

Their lead lasted barely 10 minutes as Pedro Neto levelled with a spinning low drive from the edge of the area for a first Premier League goal with Enzo Maresca’s side.

But neither side could claim the spoils in the end-to-end encounter as Chelsea moved up to third with Arsenal occupying the place below.

Brilliant Bruno

Scorers: Bruno Fernandes 17′ 39′, Garnacho 83′

Bruno Fernandes was the star of the show as Manchester United beat Leicester 3-0 on Sunday.

Ruud van Nistelrooy took charge of his final game as United interim as Leicester came to Old Trafford.

It was a relatively open start to the game and after just 17 minutes United took the lead as Bruno Fernandes found space on the edge of the area and rifled home.

The Portuguese magician then doubled his tally for the afternoon with a close range header five minutes before half time.

As the rain lashed down at Old Trafford, tackles getting later and more wild – still though, Leicester couldn’t battle their way past this now dogged United backline.

United then added a third of their own with seven minutes remaining as Alejandro Garnacho whipped in a stunner from the edge of the area.

Tractor Boys steamroller Spurs

Scorers: Bentancur 69′; Szmodics 32′, Delap 43′

Ipswich bagged their first win of the season as they beat Tottenham 2-1.

Ipswich were the visitors to north London as Tottenham dropped Timo Werner to the bench.

And after just three minutes Spurs had a glorious chance to open the scoring but Brennan Johnson poked just wide after good work from Heung-min Son.

But the hosts would pay for that profligacy on the half hour mark as Sammie Szmodics netted an acrobatic opener for Ipswich.

The Suffolk side then shocked the hosts even more late in the first half as Liam Delap bundled in to double their advantage.

Tottenham though they had pulled one back immediately after half time but Dominic Solanke’s goal was ruled out for handball.

Ange Postecoglou’s men did eventually pull a goal back however as Rodrigo Bentancur headed in on 69 minutes.

That’s Howe to do it

Scorers: Murillo 21′; Isak 54′, Joelinton 72′, Barnes 83′

A brilliant second half performance saw Newcastle come back form a goal down to beat Nottingham Forest 3-1.

Nottingham Forest played host to Newcastle knowing that a win could take them to within one point of second-placed Manchester City.

And it was Forest who took the lead midway through the first half as Murillo headed in an Elanga free kick.

Into the second half and the Magpies almost equalised thanks to a stunner from Bruno, but his effort went agonisingly over the bar.

Eddie Howe’s side did get their goal though, as Alexander Isak netted a smart equaliser soon after.

The comeback was complete with 18 minutes remaining as Joelinton struck a sweet left-footed effort into the back of the net.

A stunning second half for Newcastle was complete late on as Harvey Barnes bagged a third.
