In a press release sent to the editorial staff of Dakaractu, the Samm Sa Kaddù coalition expressed its astonishment regarding “the complaint filed against President Anta Babacar Ngom by the Pastef party under the pretext of fallacious and unfounded accusations.”
And to add: “Pastef, who has largely won the prize for political violence, provocation and threats in Senegal, is trying to create a diversion by once again pointing the finger at a leader of the Samm Sa Kaddù coalition. The threats issued by the head of the Pastef list in the Dakar department calling for the use of knives and machetes, the attack on the national headquarters of Samm Sa Kaddù in Dakar, the attacks on convoys of Samm Sa Kaddù causing material losses and injuries to activists are all acts which are still unpunished despite the various complaints.”
The said coalition “shows its full solidarity with President Anta Babacar Ngom and draws the attention of national and international opinion to the clearly stated desire of the supporters of the current regime to attack the leaders of Samm Sa Kaddù.” Before concluding: “The Samm Sa Kaddù coalition will not give in to any form of intimidation and remains firmly focused on its objective which is the victory of the opposition on the evening of November 17, 2024.”
