This Sunday, November 10, Sandrine Bonnaire, Emmanuel Moire and Christophe Michalak are in the spotlight in the new episode ofA Sunday in the Countryside on 2. The 57-year-old actress, who is returning to the theater with the play The English lover, gave a moving account describing the domestic violence she suffered. “This person who attacked me was a companion with whom I lived for four years“, she began, before continuing: “I was strangled, I passed out… in a mini-coma you could say… When he woke me up, my face was completely deformed, I had a triple fracture of the jaw, eight broken teeth.”

The actress shares her story in order to insist on reconstruction, essential after experiencing such events. “I told myself that I would rather talk about reconstruction, because that is the key to getting better and to say to myself: 'why did I go into this story, why did I not see certain things ?'”, she explained to Frédéric Lopez who underlined her courage. “I am both extremely modest, I am someone who is quite discreet in life and at the same time I am not afraid to speak,” underlined the actress who lost her mother.

The man who subjected her to this violence was her first companion after her separation from William Hurt, the father of her daughter Jeanne. The mother and daughter are very close and accomplices. Jeanne was present at the time when Sandrine Bonnaire suffered the violent acts of this new companion. “The little one was in the bath, she was seven years old at the time.
