Updated: 6:59 AM MST Nov 9, 2024
TAKING A LOOK AT THE SNOWFALL TOTALS THAT WE SAW JUST FROM THIS PAST WEEK. RIO SALADO RECEIVING 36IN OF SNOW AND THEN LAS VEGAS, ALSO ABOVE 30IN OF SNOW AROUND 31.7. AND THEN SANTA FE IS UP ABOVE 10 TO 15IN OF SNOW. AND THOSE AREAS NOW WE ARE NOT DONE WITH THE COLD WEATHER YET. WE DO HAVE A FREEZE WARNING THAT IS IN EFFECT IS OVER ON CHAVEZ COUNTY AND ALSO INCLUDES EDDY AND LEE COUNTY. AND THEN THAT’S GOING TO BE IN EFFECT UNTIL WE GET TO ABOUT THE 9 A.M. HOUR TEMPERATURES EXPECTED TO DROP TO ABOUT 28 DEGREES. AND THEN WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO PROTECT THOSE PETS AND PLANTS. NOW, AS THAT COLD AIR BEGINS TO MOVE ON OUT, YOU’RE GOING TO SEE SOME OF THIS FOG MOVING IN. AND THAT’S GOING TO BE THAT FREEZING FOG. IT REDUCES VISIBILITY AND MAKES IT AT LEAST A GLAZE ON THE STREETS. AND IT MAKES IT HARD TO SEE. SO IF YOU’RE OUT AND ABOUT AND YOU’RE TRAVELING, MAKE SURE THAT YOU LEAVE PLENTY OF SPACE BETWEEN YOU AND THE NEXT VEHICLE. THIS IS EXPECTED TO BE GOING AROUND THE 9 A.M. HOUR, AND THAT’S GOING TO BE WELL AFTER AND LATER INTO THE MORNING. NOW, TAKING A LOOK AT OUR HEADLINES. AND THIS IS A LOOK AT ALBUQUERQUE. WE’RE GOING TO MAKE IT UP TO 30 DEGREES HERE TODAY. THE WIND IS BLOWING ABOUT THREE MILES PER HOUR. THAT’S GOING TO BE TOWARDS THE NORTHEAST. AND THEN OUR HEADLINES FOR TODAY. WELL WE’RE GOING TO BE DEALING WITH SOME COLD MORNING TEMPERATURES. THAT’S GOING TO BE ACROSS THE STATE. AND THEN WE DO HAVE DRY SKIES IN THE FORECAST. AND WE ARE GOING TO BEGIN TO WARM UP AS WE ADVANCE LATER INTO THE WEEK. IF YOU’RE HEADED OUT THE DOOR RIGHT NOW, MAKE SURE THAT YOU TAKE THE JACKET WITH YOU. IT’S PRETTY CHILLY OUT THERE ACROSS THE STATE. A LOT OF US IN THE 30S AND THE 20S, BUT AS WE BEGIN TO GO THROUGH OUR FUTURE TRACK FORECAST, TAKE A LOOK AT THIS. THAT LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM, WHICH WAS WHERE WE SAW OUR STORMS, WHERE WE GOT OUR WINTER STORMS FROM, IT BEGINS TO PUSH ITS WAY OFF TO THE NORTHEAST. THIS HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM BEGINS TO COME ON IN, AND EVENTUALLY OUR TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO CHANGE. BUT TAKE A LOOK AT TODAY. NO CLOUD COVERAGE. WE ARE GOING TO JUST BASICALLY REMAIN FAIRLY CALM FOR THIS, FOR THIS PARTICULAR DAY. NOW, AS WE BEGIN TO TAKE A LOOK AT FARMINGTON IN OUR ZONE, FORECAST IS GOING TO MAKE IT UP TO 49 DEGREES TODAY, 52 DEGREES. PRETTY SUNNY OUT THERE BY THE TIME THEY GET TO THURSDAY THOUGH, THEY’LL BE KNOCKING ON THE DOOR OF THE 60S AND THEN THEY’LL CROSS INTO THE 60S. ONCE WE GET OVER INTO FRIDAY AND THEN SILVER CITY IS GOING TO MAKE IT UP TO 61 DEGREES TODAY, EXPECTED TO BE AROUND 66 DEGREES. A LOT OF OUR SOUTHERN PORTIONS ARE GOING TO BE A LOT WARMER THAN THE NORTH PART OF THE STATE. THEY’RE GOING TO BE IN THE 70S. BY THE TIME WE GET TO MONDAY, THEN THEY’RE GOING TO BE HOPPING IN AND OUT OF THE 70S AND THE 60S FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE. TAKING A LOOK AT ROSWELL. THEY’RE GOING TO MAKE IT UP TO 63 DEGREES. SUNNY DAY. BY THE TIME WE GET TO MONDAY, THOUGH, THEY’LL BE IN THE 70S AND THEY’LL BE STAYING THERE ON TUESDAY AS WELL. AND THEN WEDNESDAY THEY’LL BE COOLING BACK OFF INTO THE 60S BEFORE MAKING IT INTO THE 70S BY FRIDAY. AND THEN IN LAS VEGAS, EXPECTED TO BE AROUND 38 DEGREES. THE GOOD THING IS THEY GET THE CHANCE TO DRY OUT, GET A BREAK FROM THE SNOW. IT’S GOING TO BE 40 DEGREES ON TOMORROW, AND THEN EVENTUALLY THEY’RE GOING TO MAKE IT UP TO 49 DEGREES, CLOSE TO 50. BY THE TIME WE GET TO THURSDAY. THEY SHOULD BE IN THE 50S. AND THEN FRIDAY THEY’LL BE INTO THE 60S. IT’S STARTING TO FEEL A LOT MORE LIKE FALL SANTA FE EXPECTED TO BE AROUND 37 DEGREES FOR TODAY, 45 TOMORROW, AND THEN 48 ON MONDAY. AND THEN THE HIGHEST, WELL, ONE OF THEIR HIGHEST TEMPERATURES IN THE WEEK IS GOING TO BE ON TUESDAY. ONCE THEY MAKE IT TO 49, THEN THEY GET TO THURSDAY. THAT’S WHEN THEY WILL BE IN THE 50S. AND THEN TAKING A LOOK AT THE METRO AREA HERE IN THE METRO AREA, WE’RE EXPECTED TO PEAK AROUND THE 40 DEGREE TEMPERATURES. I DON’T THINK THAT THERE WILL BE AN AREA THAT MAKES IT INTO THE 50S. AND THEN AS WE TAKE A LOOK AT THAT SEVEN DAY FORECAST FOR ALBUQUERQUE, IS EXPECTED TO BE 49 DEGREES. PRETTY CHILLY TODAY. WE’RE GOING TO BE A LOT MORE MILD TOMORROW, MAKING IT UP TO 57. BUT THAT LOW TEMPERATURE IS DOWN TO 26 DEGREES BY THE TIME WE ADVANCE. LATER IN THE WEEK, WE’LL MAKE IT INTO THE 60S. I THINK OUR LAST DAY IN THE 60S WILL BE TUESDAY, AND THEN WE’LL BE BACK DOWN INTO THE 50S, EVENTUALLY INT
