But unfortunately an injury forced him out of the clash at the last moment. Facing the ‘greatest UFC heavyweight’ in Stipe Miocic, ‘Bones’ will look to retire from the sport as the ‘greatest fighter of all time’. ‘Bones’ has been training with ADCC champ Gordon Ryan and Olympic gold medalist wrestler Gable Steveson in order to sharpen his skills. With his training camp coming to a close, he took to Instagram to share an emotional message for his team mates. He wrote, “More than anything, I’m grateful. Grateful to everyone who’s put their time and effort into this journey. We are better together, and I’m so blessed to have one of the strongest teams in mixed martial arts history. What started as friendships have become unbreakable brotherhoods. My coaches have given me their absolute best, sacrificing nights away from their families. To my loyal teammates, there aren’t enough ways to express my thanks.”
