After three early victories, Tottenham conceded their first defeat of the season in the Europa League, beaten 3-2 by Galatasaray. A logical defeat as Pape Matar Sarr’s partners suffered in this meeting.
The euphoria falls at Tottenham. After two convincing victories against Manchester City in the League Cup (2-1), then against Aston Villa in the Premier League (4-1), Spurs suffered their first setback of the season in the league phase of the Europa League. Traveling to Türkiye this Thursday evening, Ange Postecoglou’s men lost 3-2 against Galatasaray.
A logical defeat because Tottenham suffered enormously and can even congratulate themselves on having conceded “only” three goals, including a double from Victor Osimhen (31st, 39th), who still missed a lot. Yunus Akgun opened the scoring in the 6th minute, shortly before the equalizer by Lankshear (18th). The expulsion of the latter (60th) seemed to wake up the Spurs, who reduced the gap through Solanke (69th). Still insufficient to secure a draw which would absolutely not have been deserved.
