Night of violence. On the night of Thursday November 7 to Friday November 8, clashes broke out on the sidelines of the match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel-Aviv in Amsterdam. Israeli supporters were attacked and the Dutch Prime Minister spoke of “unacceptable anti-Semitic attacks”. Five people were hospitalized and 62 others hospitalized.
Rescue planes sent from Israel. Benjamin Netanyahu announced very early this morning the sending of two relief planes to Amsterdam. The first plane took off around 10 a.m. from Ben Gurion airport. The new head of Israeli diplomacy, Gideon Saar, will visit the capital of the Netherlands.
Reactions. Israeli President Isaac Herzog denounced an “anti-Semitic pogrom”. Israeli football fans suffered “a mass lynching”, denounced Crif president Yonathan Arfi, expressing his “concern” and “anger”.
