The former spouse of Iris Mittenaere, Bruno Pelat, was sentenced to prison for domestic violence against the former Miss France. This is not his first conviction.
Iris Mittenaere obtained the conviction of her ex-companion, Bruno Pelat, whom she accuses of domestic violence. Aged 22, the man was tried on the evening of November 6 to 7, 2024 at the Paris Criminal Court during a closed-door trial. He was sentenced to one year in prison, including six months suspended, the lawyer informed the former Miss France and the Paris prosecutor's office. His prison sentence will be respected at home under an electronic bracelet. The man is also subject to an obligation of care and a ban on coming into contact with the beauty queen or going near her home.
Bruno Pelat, who had a romantic relationship with Iris Mittenaere for several months, was found guilty of violence against his ex-partner, in particular of acts dating back to the evening of September 25 during which he slammed her head against a wall, insulted and threatened to make him lose his professional contracts according to the details of the Parisian. The young man was arrested shortly after the events and was to be tried immediately upon leaving police custody on September 27. The trial was, however, postponed to allow the presence of Iris Mitttenaere who was then not “in the psychological capacity” to attend the hearing according to her lawyer. Pending his trial, Bruno Pelat was placed under judicial supervision and already banned from any contact with his ex-partner.
Previous convictions
This is not the first time that Bruno Pelat has been convicted of acts of violence. He has already been found guilty of similar acts and death threats against his father in June 2022, but also against a previous partner in April 2023. The prosecutor thus indicated last September, before the postponement of the trial , that the man presented a “recourse to threats and violence which seems to be habitual in the context of the relationships he maintains with those around him”.
During his immediate appearance at the end of September, Bruno Pelat admitted that his “impulsivity is a problem”. And the accused promised: “I will no longer come into contact with her [Iris Mittenaere, ndlr.]. I want her to be happy.”
Who is Bruno Pelat?
Bruno Pelat is not known to the media world like the previous companions of the former Miss France. According to information from Closer, Bruno Pelat is a very rich young man, from a family that made its fortune in real estate. The celebrity magazine even writes that Iris Mittenaere's companion is “heir to a businessman”, and specifies that her father, who heads a powerful real estate group, “is one of the 100 richest families in France “, which puts Bruno Pelat's fortune at several tens of millions of euros. According to Here, the couple formed by Iris Mittenaere and Bruno Pelat spend a lot of time “in the luxurious apartment” of the young man in Montmartre or “in heavenly places around the world”.
If Iris Mittenaere has been discreet about her relationship it is to keep her relationship and her private life away from the paparazzi. Her previous relationship, with Diego Glaoui, had been very publicized and the former Miss France had suggested that her relationship had suffered considerably from the way in which the press and the media had rushed into their love story.
