Aged 16, Lola R. voluntarily left her family home in Quiévrain, Belgium, near the French border, on October 28. After more than a month of searching, the Belgian federal police announced that the teenager had been found.

“Lola was found in good health,” assured the police this Thursday, without giving further details. Good news which puts an end to more than a month of investigation into this disappearance which David Rimaux, the commissioner of the missing persons unit of the federal police, had considered worrying.

What could Lola have been doing for a month?

We do not know at this stage in what conditions Lola was found or even what she may have done since October 28. For a time, the idea of ​​the teenager running away with a forty-year-old man had been mentioned by her family. Track which had given nothing according to the police confirmed, this Thursday, David Rimaux, at 20 Minutes.

However, it was the young girl who contacted the police “so that we could find her”, assures the commissioner, specifying that Lola “was currently being looked after by the youth services”. She must be heard during the day about her long runaway and the decision to find her family “will be taken by the investigating judge”, explains the police officer.
