The Harry Kane era at FC Bayern Munich could be over in 2027. Managers are already keeping an eye on possible heirs.

Munich – Harry Kane is currently one of the shining heroes of the Bundesliga. In the summer of 2023, he became the first Bundesliga professional to break the 100 million mark and has been scoring goals at will for FC Bayern Munich ever since. But how long will it stay that way? His contract ends in 2027, at which point Kane would be 34 years old. The managers of the German record champions have already started looking for a successor and drawing up a list.

Two RB Leipzig strikers are in the focus of FC Bayern

In addition to Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt, two strikers from RB Leipzig are also said to be on FC Bayern’s watch list, according to Sport Bild. Benjamin Sesko was already an issue at FC Bayern in the past when he still played for Salzburg (2021 to 2023). At that time, despite its potential, the step was still too big. That has now changed. Sesko has made a name for himself and, despite a weak phase, he is believed to be able to rise to the world class.

However, the striker from Saxony could only come into play in 2026 as his profile as a center forward is very similar to that of Kane. However, the price would then be fixed and the Munich team could probably sign him for the set transfer fee of 70 million euros. This time too, FC Bayern would probably have to dig deep into their pockets again to fill the striker position. This is partly due to the development of Mathys Tel. The Frenchman is stagnating and therefore plays no role in the short and medium-term considerations.

Sesko and Openda attract attention

That’s why, in addition to Sesko, RB’s second top striker, Loïs Openda, is also becoming the focus of FC Bayern. Openda, like Sesko, moved to Leipzig in 2023 and got off to a brilliant start. After 59 competitive games, the Belgian has already scored over 34 goals and eleven assists. He also has an exit clause from 2026, which should be around 80 million euros. It wouldn’t be the first time that FC Bayern poached players from Leipzig. Marcel Sabitzer, Konrad Laimer and Dayot Upamecano have already taken this path.
