JUSTICE – The verdict is in. Bruno Pelat, ex-companion of former Miss France Iris Mittenaere, was convicted of domestic violence during a closed hearing on Wednesday November 6 at the Paris criminal court, in the presence of the victim. According to information from BFMTV and CNews this Thursday, November 7, he will have to serve one year in prison, including six months.
This sentence was accompanied by a two-year probationary suspension prohibiting him from having contact with the victim, an obligation of care as well as compensation for the civil party.
Furthermore, Bruno Pelat had already been sentenced in June 2022 for violence and death threats against his father, then in April 2023 for violence against another partner. His probationary suspension pronounced during these previous convictions was revoked by the Paris criminal court, which transformed his three-month suspended prison sentence into prison. He will therefore have to serve this sentence, in addition to the six months to which he was sentenced on Wednesday, at home under an electronic bracelet, indicates BFMTV.
The defendant was to be tried on September 27, but the trial was postponed at the request of Iris Mittenaere, who wished to be able to attend. The 31-year-old influencer, who estimated “ not having been able to tell everything at the police station”was not “ in psychological capacity to come to the hearing” that day, according to his lawyer.
Hit your head against a wall
Placed in police custody following a complaint filed by the former Miss France, the 22-year-old young man, “ president of a real estate development company”, was accused of having beaten Iris Mittenaere, of hitting her head against a wall and of having threatened to “ blow up » its contracts, since June 2024.
In a relationship with the social media star for several months, he had been placed under judicial supervision following his custody, and banned “ to enter into contact in any way, including through social networks, with the victim.” The prosecutor had nevertheless requested his pre-trial detention “ to avoid any risk of reiteration of the facts on the civil party and on any other companion that Mr. could have.”
According to the prosecutor, Bruno Pelat has ” a recourse to threats and violence which seems to be a habitual recourse in the context of the relationships he maintains with those around him.” He argued a “ impulsivity problem » et « be afraid of abandonment ». « I don't know my mother”he said during the first hearing.
