“We are very happy with our current team. We don’t feel any pressure to do anything because the boys are performing really well and developing well,” said the sports director DAZN. It is also always a process over the next six to twelve months.

Freund also commented on the desired contract extension with Jamal Musiala. “Jamal is a very important player. It’s no secret that we want to keep him at the club for a long time,” said the Austrian and added: “He’s playing very well at the moment and feels very comfortable. It would be very nice if we could extend Jamal for a long time.”

When asked whether there could be an extension of Musiala’s contract until 2026 as a Christmas present for Bayern fans, Freund replied: “We’ll see.”

A transfer from Florian Wirtz will definitely not be a Christmas present for the fans, emphasized Freund. “Flo is currently at Leverkusen and is having another very good season. We are currently concentrating on the squad we have available. There’s a lot to do there too.”
