A key member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is now the outright leader in direct goal contributions in this season’s Champions League.
The Blaugrana star in question? Raphinha.
Wide-man Raphinha was afforded his latest start this evening, as Barca made the trip to Serbia for a meeting with Red Star Belgrade.
And, thus far in proceedings, the Brazilian has continued to stake his claim as arguably the continent’s most in-form player.
Barcelona are currently in possession of a 4-1 advantage at the Red Star Stadium, with Raphinha having played a direct role in all but one of the visitors’ goals.
After laying on assists for both Iñigo Martínez and Robert Lewandowski, the former Leeds United man then turned goalscorer himself courtesy of a fine side-footed finish early in the 2nd-half.
And, as per statisticians StatMuse, as much has seen Raphinha, with seven to his name, secure his status as the player with the most goals/assists in the 2024/25 Champions League campaign to date.
