Guest on the set of “It’s yours” this Tuesday, November 6, the actor spoke without filter about his recent health concerns, on the occasion of the release of his book “Born to Play”.
Pierre Arditi philosopher on the set of France 5
The irresistible actor was the guest of Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine on France 5 this Tuesday evening. With the verve that we know of him, he immediately wanted to dot the i's concerning his health, after his two recent illnesses that occurred on stage. “There I am, everything is fine. There is no problem. Stop asking me how I'm doing, I'm tired of it now”,he said, visibly annoyed by the recurring questions about his state of health.
A “national treasure” revealed in an intimate autobiography
In his new book “Born to play“, Pierre Arditi opens up like never before. This “old child”as he describes himself, discusses his exceptional journey, from stage to screen, under the direction of the biggest names in French cinema. The work also reveals more personal aspects of his life, notably his relationship with the singer Barbara, before his meeting with Évelyne Bouix, the woman of his life.
“You have to live violently”: the credo of an enthusiast
Facing Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine, the actor delivered a real life lesson: “Life is clearly a loan. There is someone who comes, who demands it from you, it's over. So, if you do like all the imbeciles who think that you have to save it for something better live it, they don't know that life is not the savings bank.” A philosophy that he intends to continue to apply, as he explains with humor: “I act as if I could drink until my last breath, which will definitely happen, I assure you right away.”
After two illnesses on stage last September and December at the Edouard-VII theater, where he played “Lapland” alongside Muriel Robin, Pierre Arditi proves that he keeps his love of the stage and his thirst for life intact. If the public is worried about his health, it is with tenderness, as he himself admits: “The people are delicious, they’re absolutely lovely.”
