Erling Haaland, let terrible humiliation

Erling Haaland was brutally trolled by Swedish social media account after the Norwegian was upstaged by Viktor Gyokeres in the Champions League.

Gyokeres announced himself on the European stage with a sensational hat-trick against City, but Haaland faded into obscurity after a miserable night in Lisbon as Pep Guardiola's men suffered a third successive defeat for the first time since April 2018 .

Although Haaland has scored 17 goals for club and country this season, the Norwegian striker has blown hot and cold, which has hurt his performances by his high standards. However, Gyokeres has terrorized defenses across Portugal and Europe and already boasts 25 goals this season, including the three he netted on Tuesday night. In fact, there were only two matches where he failed to find the net.

Gyokeres on fire

Before the match, the official Champions League account raised the tension between the two attackers and tweeted their record goalscoring record in this campaign. And after Gyokeres' hat-trick, Svensk Fotboll cited the tweet and wrote the updated figures to hail the new strength of Scandinavian football.

Haaland will be looking to put the evening in Lisbon behind him as quickly as possible, as the games continue with Brighton next playing in the Premier League on Saturday.
