Live from iPhone
Indeed, tonight (time difference requires), we will have the first estimates on the identity of the tenant of the White House and, for this, it is possible to follow the progress via Apple News. In practice, it will therefore be necessary either to be on site or to have access to Apple News by geolocating for example in the USA via a VPN or by switching the system language (as to test Apple Intelligence).
Apple News will indeed offer to broadcast the results to the nearest second on your lock screen thanks to Live Activities. The lock screen will feature a large interactive widget that will launch for this election night coverage. The Dynamic Island will display the electoral count for each candidate continuously.
Live activities, how do they work?
To display the Live Activitieseverything will depend on your iPhone. For the iPhone 14 Pro, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 ranges, the latter will appear on the Dynamic Island. The area will be able to display restricted information, and by clicking on it (a more or less prolonged press) we will be able to access more information.
For other iPhones (iPhone 14 and those of previous generations), Live Activities will be accessible from the lock screenvia a window to provide dynamic information in real time. By their function, they are essentially identical to certain widgets, but will appear at the bottom of the screen now devoted to notifications.
