„It's official! Laurentiu Reghecampf (49 years old) is the new coach of Esperance!“, was the announcement made by the club leaders.
Reghecampf signed a contract valid until 2026 with the team that is in 6th place in the domestic competition. He will debut on Saturday, at home, against Gabes.
Esperance Tunis will debut this month in the African Champions League. The first match in the group stage is scheduled for November 26, at home, Djoliba.
Throughout his career, Reghecampf coached Voinţa Snagov, Craiova University, Gloria Bistriţa, Concordia Chiajna, FCSB, Al-Hilal, Litex, Al-Wahda, Al-Wasl, Al-Ahli and Al-Tai and Neftchi Baku.
Sorin Cârţu attacked Laurentiu Reghecampf: “He didn't know how to coach Craiova”
Sorin Cârţu attacked Laurentiu Reghecampf. The former president of Craiova University is also dissatisfied with Costel Gâlcă.
„Mihai (no: Rotaru) told me that he wants to be patron and president and to be in discussion only with the coach.
That's what I understood from the discussion we had when I left. I was never asked for my opinion on a transfer in the four years I was there. My opinion was listened to only when I appointed Radoi and Bergodi.
Neither Reghecampf nor the other recent coaches knew what to do.
None of them knew how to train Craiova. They allowed themselves to be dominated by the players and it all went from there.
They commit to some goals, they have the lot they have, and they commit to achieving something. They need to be much stricter with the players“, declared Sorin Cârţu at digisport.ro.
Laurenţiu Reghecampf is currently on trial with Mihai Rotaru, after he did not pay the termination clause when he left Craiova University. “Reghe” wanted to negotiate with Rotaru to pay a smaller amount, but the patron of Craiova University refused this.
