The lifeless body of an 89-year-old man was discovered this Monday, November 4, in a park in Annecy (Haute-Savoie), after more than a month of research by the police, according to a source close to the investigation confirming initial information from the Dauphiné Libéré.

The victim had been missing since October 2, following reports from his relatives. Searches had been launched and searches organized in particular with the help of drones equipped with artificial intelligence. But these operations, carried out in Annecy-le-Vieux, were not conclusive. A call for witnesses had been launched.

On October 28, the investigation accelerated with the discovery, by a walker, of a bag in the Glaisins park. This bag had been hung on the gate of a company near the green space. A new call for witnesses was then launched to find the trace of this walker.

Informed, he contacted the judicial police at the Annecy police station. With the help of this walker, the investigators returned to the scene of the discovery of the bag. “The victim's body was located about ten meters away, near a stream. This area, difficult to access and far from the paths, had not been affected by the first excavations in the park des Glaisins”indicated a source close to the matter.

According to initial findings, no criminal leads have yet been identified. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, November 6 to determine the exact circumstances of death.
