Indeed, the comedian, currently on tour for his new show, Himselfwas surprised to discover on screen his very first theater teacher, Marc-Henri de Busschère, who participated in the show to look back on the actor's first improvisation – so successful that many students had asked to play the role. scene… Very moved by this intervention, the comedian revealed an incredible anecdote: “It’s thanks to him that I kept my name.” The dad of two, who recently became a grandfather, then explained why he “wanted to change name” : “I thought my name wasn’t French enough…”

However, Marc-Henri de Busschère was strongly opposed to this idea. “He said to me: ‘But Elmaleh, it’s elegant, Elmaleh!”the comedian further revealed. The theater teacher – who would like Gad Elmaleh to open his own school – had to insist at length with the future comedy star that he keep his surname, but ended up winning his case. As the man whose job has helped a lot in his love life confided, very moved to see his former mentor again, the influence that Marc-Henri de Busschère had on his life did not stop there: “He’s the one who gave me self-confidence… He gave me a lot.” A moment of emotion which delighted Gad Elmaleh, even though, earlier in the show, he had declared that he hated surprises…
