Vigo, Nov 4 (EFE). Claudio Giráldez, RC Celta coach, highlighted the importance of rediscovering the victory against Getafe, in a “low-key” match in which Iago Aspas once again stood out.
“We have to manage Iago, we know how old he is and that he always wants more. But you have to be a little cautious with it. Today, we believed that it was important that he was there until the end, that he gave us that control that he gives us when he has it on his feet,” he indicated.
Giráldez acknowledged that it is “very difficult” to play against José Bordalás’ team, which is why he praised the “maturity” that his players showed during the ninety minutes.
“We have seen a solid team, at times with good football and at others with too much anxiety for the moment of the season we are in. It was a not very brilliant match but we had to get it out of the way and we did it well,” he highlighted.
“We played a fairly mature game, from my point of view we could have played much better in many situations that we played too vertically or that we did not fully handle having time. However, we played a complete game and deserved the victory, both with numerical equality and superiority,” he added.
Finally, the light blue coach praised the game of Greek striker Tasos Douvikas, scorer of the winning goal: “He played a great game, he contributed a lot to us. We knew that he was an opponent who could fit him very well because he is capable of attacking spaces very well against an opponent who defends advanced. He helped us a lot and was very good in back situations, which is something that was costing him a little more.” EFE
