Cn Monday, Conner Rousseau slammed the door on federal negotiations while Bart De Wever submitted his resignation to the King, who refused it and extended his mission as trainer. With Arizona falling through, the remaining negotiators must find a new partner to replace Vooruit. “This sequence is a regrettable missed opportunity” reacted Maxime Prévot, the president of Les Engagés.
“Due to Vooruit’s stubborn refusal to agree to enter into negotiations on the socio-economic note, trainer Bart De Wever was forced to admit to our Sovereign the impossibility of continuing his mission,” declared Maxime Prévot in a press release sent this Monday.
The president of Les Engagés also recalls “the urgency of Belgium’s budgetary situation, which requires that a government of action be set up as quickly as possible”.

Arizona falls apart
According to him, “Arizona offered a more restricted political team than Vivaldi, bringing together the winners of last June’s legislative election, offering both a majority in each of the linguistic groups and mirror majorities in relation to the regional governments”.
By leaving the negotiations, Vooruit put “a brutal end to months of intense work while, beyond the elements of discontent which remained for Les Engagés as well, numerous texts could be debated but unfortunately hardly negotiated”.
Maxime Prévot and the other remaining negotiators will therefore have to redouble their efforts to resume negotiations… with a new partner.
