Quincy Jones has died at the age of 91. He is one of the rare Music producers whose name speaks to the general public, he who notably brought out the album Thriller by Michael Jackson in 1982. Trumpeter, arranger and composer, Quincy Jones has had an immense career.
A giant who had graced the Jazz scene in Vienna ten years ago, on July 3, 2014. He was there to present, defend and associate with very young musicians at the time, including the French big band of 'Amazing Keystone Big Band. But also Alfredo Rodriguez, Nikki Yanofsky, Andreas Varady, Justin Kauflin. There was also the vibraphonist Michel Hausser, a former companion of Quincy Jones when the latter was artistic director at Barclay in Paris. The reunion had been moving at the Ancient Theater.
