WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – It was a soggy end to the weekend on Sunday, with periods of rain and some brisk winds. The rain tapers to showers Sunday night, with occasional scattered showers on Monday. A milder day to start the work/school week, but the umbrella will be needed on Election Day. Sunshine returns for the second half of the week, with temperatures back above average by about 5 to 10 degrees. The next chance of showers could be later next weekend.
Rain will taper to showers Sunday evening, with off-and-on showers possible Sunday night. Temperatures will be steady during the evening, slowly rising overnight into Monday morning toward the low to mid 50s. Areas of fog, locally dense possible into early Monday morning.
Lots of clouds and milder on Monday with occasional scattered showers. Highs in the low to mid 60s. A few showers are possible Monday night.
Election Day on Tuesday will be milder in the morning versus the afternoon, with periods of rain. Temperatures in the first part of the day will be in the 50s, slipping back into the mid 40s by the afternoon. Winds will pick up a bit in the afternoon to the evening out of the northwest, with gusts up to 30 mph possible. Additional rainfall through Tuesday evening of a half inch to one inch in most of the region.
Partly cloudy on Wednesday, with highs in the low 50s. A fair amount of sun on Thursday and Friday, with highs in the low to mid 50s.
Next weekend, there will be increasing clouds on Saturday, with highs in the upper 50s to around 60. Mostly cloudy on Sunday, with showers possible. Highs in the low 50s.
