A back-to-school Monday disrupted by a snail operation in Toulouse this November 4, 2024. There is no doubt that traffic will be very complicated on the roads around the Pink City. Toulouse News provides a live update on the conditions this Monday morning.
8:40 a.m. – VTC drivers heading to the airport
From the Ponts-Jumeaux sector, VTC drivers will now head towards Toulouse airport. Traffic will become more complicated on the A621 and the A620. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
8:30 a.m. – VTC drivers at Ponts-Jumeaux
Several VTC driver vehicles are currently stationary in the Ponts-Jumeaux sector. More precisely, they parked on Boulevard de l'Embouchure and lit smoke bombs.
8:20 a.m. – Demonstration in progress in the west
VTC drivers are engaged “in the western sector of Toulouse”, reports Radio Vinci. They are notably positioned on the A620, towards Blagnac.
8 a.m. – Heading to the airport: anticipate your arrival
For travelers who want to reach Toulouse airport this Monday morning, they will have to anticipate their arrival due to the action of VTC drivers.
“Access to the airport could be disrupted Monday November 4 morning, due to a VTC demonstration. Please anticipate your arrival,” we can read on the Toulouse-Blagnac airport website.
7:45 a.m. – Several difficulties on these axes
Radio Vinci has already noted difficulties on several axes around Toulouse, notably on the A20 between Toulouse and Brive-la-Gaillarde.
More generally, traffic is busy between the north and south of Toulouse. It will take 5 to 10 minutes longer to cross the city. The Balma sector is, among other things, very busy.
For motorists who want to reach Toulouse via the D820, south of the Pink City, they will also have to be patient.
7:30 a.m. – VTC drivers demonstrate
Angry, VTC drivers will make their voices heard this Monday morning by organizing a snail operation on the roads. The starting point was at the Sesquières car park before heading towards Toulouse-Blagnac airport and the ring road. Shortly after 7:30 a.m., they were already engaged in the northern sector of Toulouse.
Some professionals do not rule out mobilizing near the Airbus factories in Saint-Martin-du-Touch, or even making a foray into downtown Toulouse.
They are particularly angry with reservation platforms – like Uber, of course, but also new players in the market, like Bolt – who do not, in their eyes, pay the right price for rides.
