Commercial use of Xinghe Intelligent Network is in full swing, accelerating new growth for carriers

ISTANBULTurkey, 4 november 2024 /PRNewswire/ — At the 2024 Ultra-Broadband Forum (UBBF) held Leon Wangchairman of the Huawei Data Communication Product Line, delivered a keynote speech entitled Xinghe Intelligent Network: Accelerating New Growth for Carriers in Net5.5G Era [Versnelde nieuwe groei voor carriers in het Net5.5G-tijdperk]. In his speech, Wang shared Huawei’s collaboration with world-leading carriers, leveraging its Xinghe Intelligent Network Solution to drive business success for customers. He also provided a look at the development goals of new services in intelligent computing scenarios.

Leon Wang, President of Huawei’s Data Communication Product Line, delivering a speech at UBBF 2024

All industries are rapidly moving into the AI era, driving the evolution of next-generation Net5.5G data communications networks. Huawei first unveiled its interpretation of the Net5.5G target network at UBBF 2023, and later launched the Xinghe Intelligent Network Solution applied to the Net5.5G target network at MWC Shanghai 2024. Since then, leading carriers have commercialized the Xinghe Intelligent Network Solution, increasing their revenues.

Wang noted that Huawei’s Net5.5G-oriented Xinghe Intelligent Network Solution offers four capabilities:

  • First-class experience guarantee: The solution provides accurate experience guarantee to meet differentiated demands of different users and accelerates the monetization of 2H/2C services. It also improves the service experience through managed services, enabling leapfrog development 2Bservices is made easier.
  • Highly reliable converged transport: E2E 400GE routers and Network Digital Map, supporting network configuration simulation, help build ultra-wideband and reliable transport networks. And one network for multiple services reduces TCO, effectively addressing the fast-growing annual traffic growth rate of over 20%.
  • High efficiency for intelligent computing: Elastic lossless WAN enables efficient transfer of computing power and helps carriers seize the opportunities presented by enterprises’ access to intelligent computing centers. The solution also helps build a reliable and efficient computing foundation, allowing carriers to more quickly monetize computing services.
  • Ubiquitous Intelligent Security: To address the network threats posed by the exponential growth of AI, this solution uses AI-powered network security detection to quickly and accurately identify threats and ensure service development.

In his speech, Wang discussed several advanced carrier use cases. Regarding accelerating service monetization through premium experience guaranteeHuawei’s Xinghe Intelligent Network Solution uses automatic optimization capabilities of SRv6 + Network Digital Map to optimize network paths and alleviate congestion caused by hundreds of fiber break cases per month. This reduces optimization time from 5 days to a matter of minutes, improves the service experience and releases suppressed traffic. This also reduces complaints by 80% and increases daily usage (DOU) by 7%, increasing revenues by an estimated more than $4 million per month. In terms of reducing total cost of ownership (TCO) through ultra-reliable converged transportationa customer was able to reduce the CAPEX of the entire network by 50% after introducing Huawei’s 400GE routers. Offering the highest density in the industry, these routers enabled the customer to build a converged transport network that supports smooth evolution over the next 10 years. This addresses expected traffic growth of 50% CAGR over the next three years, driven by the explosive expansion of 5G, FTTH and video services. Wang also shared the explorations and use cases from carriers in taking advantage of new opportunities that AI offers to drive growth. These include Data Express services that allow massive enterprise data samples to flow into carriers’ intelligent compute data centers, long-distance lossless transmission services that facilitate DC collaboration, intelligent compute cloud services, and and the pioneering work in AI defense to mitigate network security risks .

Xinghe Intelligent Network’s end-to-end products have been accelerated for commercial use. 40 carriers from more than 20 countries are already using the Xinghe Intelligent Network to fuel their growth and expand their business reach. Huawei will continue to be at the forefront of network technology innovation, developing leading products and solutions in collaboration with top-tier carriers from around the world to unlock new opportunities in the intelligent era and drive business forward.
