INTER-VENICE 1-0
(65′ Lautaro)
Sommer 7 – Far from being a non-paying spectator: a super reflection on Oristanio at the end of the first half, it was also decisive on Pohjanpalo at the start of the second half. There are his gloves in this success. The uncertainties relating to the final exit are eliminated from the match report.
Pavard 6 – The exception to the rule: he finishes a match even with a yellow card and that must mean something, even without claiming it’s a miracle.
The Free 6 – In the final he even comes close to scoring on an inactive ball. Nice duel with Pohjanpalo, with some space granted.
Sticks 6.5 – More about governing than fighting: he made some of Inter’s most dangerous descents, behind a few too many mistakes. He comes out in pain. (Dal 70′ Bisseck 5 – Thank Sverko’s convict arm, but you can’t let yourself get blown up like that at the last minute.)
Dumfries 6,5 – He pushes hard at the start, as the minutes go by he drops noticeably but is still among those who calls on Stankovic to intervene. A couple of checks, however, are anti-school football.
Stretcher 6 – Often wide to the right, especially in the first half. In the second half he slipped away from the game before exiting. (Dal 70′ Calhanoglu 6,5 – He enters and Inter immediately runs more fluidly. A nice counter throw to certify the most precious recovery there is).
Zielinski 6 – Without infamy and without praise: the homework, like a good part of Inter. (From 84′ Frattesi sv).
Mkhitaryan 6 – The moving penalty offered to him by Dumfries in the first half fails, Dimarco’s knee offside stops the celebration for the goal disallowed in the second half in his throat. Ninety minutes of sacrifice, not always at the top: with Arsenal, at least, he will rest.
Dimarco 6,5 – The assist for Lautaro’s goal and many other runs on Inter’s strong flank. He too gives some uncertainty in the non-possession phase: the mitigating factor is overtime due to the lack of alternatives. (Dal 76′ Darmian st ).
Thuram 5.5 – In the fat panther version: the usual great beauty in the gait is accompanied by at least two devoured goals.
Lautaro 7 – To unlock a game like this, you need a gore of the Tour. The rest is quite ordinary, even a little less. But it’s a heavy goal. (From 70′ Taremi 6 – Lots of garra, but no quail).
Simone Inzaghi 6 – A ferocious team was expected, after having lunch enjoying the 3-0 of the Dea in Naples. Instead, his Inter entered the pitch sluggishly and brought the result home only narrowly, with the final thrill. The three points, however, are precious.
